Today, we released the first Course of Fire (CoF) Module for LASR X. Because it is still in prototype its free for now--(so check it out). It is similar to what LASR Classic users have been doing in LASR Community for years. What I mean by that is, using a publically available CoF, we recreated the individual stages of fire so folks can shoot and train on them AND SHARE IT WITH OTHERS! In this case, we are modeling the NY Department of Criminal Justice Services (NY DCJS) life fire qualification stages using LASR X to score and dryfire. You can see those requirements here (downloaded from the website QualificationCourseOfFire (s-kprevention.com)) Thank you to one of our fellow LASR 2A Community members, who runs the YouTube Channel CM Fire and Life Safety Consulting (take time out to check out his Channel and even subscribe) He brought to my attention that some of our First Responders have the challenge of finding reasonably priced ammo and paying for it to stay proficient, and locating ranges that are still open when folks can practice for Qual. What I've done for those who are so inclined or need to practice the CoF for NY DCJS Armed Security Guards, feel free to look at this link and module and let us know what you think about it. It's still in prototype, but we are happy to share. It takes advantage of two (2) new enhancements in LASR X that we have released but have not yet announced. Those are The ability for users to share their Presets with other LASR X users and That also retains all the configuration and scoring settings as well (i.e., all the detailed hard work you put into the parameters and scoring) It's free but you will need is a LASR X subscription to use the presets. Activating a Plugin IMPORTANT: Once you activate a plugin on your LASR license, that plugin activation is permanently tied to that license and cannot be re-used or transferred to a different license. If you move your license to a different machine, it will still be activated. 1. Open LASR on your computer, and go to the plugins menu by clicking on the plugins button: 2. Click on "activate a plugin" at the bottom of the plugins dialog: 3. Enter your activation key when prompted: (you can copy/paste from the product email) "It won't accept my activation code!" When you enter the activation code, LASR will take a moment to talk to our server so that you will need an internet connection. LASR needs to reach our server (not being blocked by firewall or anti-virus), but no download or installation is required. Once the plugin is activated, you can disconnect from the internet if you wish. Once you activate a plugin on your software license, it is tied to that software license. So even if you move it to a different computer, the plugin will still be activated.

If you purchase from a third party, such as one of our dealers, the LASR plugins will come on a credit-card style plastic card with basic instructions and the activation code under a scratch-off cover on the back of the card.

Recording yourself shooting is nothing new, as many top shooters have been recommending it for years. The Shooter Watch Plugin for LASR seamlessly brings that ability to your dryfire practice with the added benefit of being fully integrated with the LASR software and all other plugins. The LASR Shooter Watch Plugin lets LASR use a second webcam to watch you, the shooter, so you can see what you're doing right or spot deficiencies. Position the camera wherever you want to capture those key moments in your practice and watch the recording while checking your results.

Networking is a LASR X feature that allows you to connect multiple devices to behave like one: You can control the software and view results from any device within your network. This feature allows for multi-directional, multi-room, multi-shooter, remote controls, and much more. You will log in with the same account on every device you use for networking. You can upgrade an existing account within LASR X under account management or purchase one of the annual plans that include an initial number of additional device licenses. Because LASR X is a web app, there are no special sound settings. However, you'll need to check a few things on your iOS device to get sound working. First, if your phone or tablet has hardware "Do Not Disturb" button on the side, make sure it is flipped off (so the red dot is not showing). Second, make sure the volume on your device is turned up. You can use the hardware volume buttons on the side (if your device has them) to turn up the volume. Lastly, swipe down from the battery indicator at the top-right of the screen. Adjust the volume as needed and be sure the "Do Not Disturb" feature is turned off:
