Yes the Classic version of LASR is designed for one computer at the time. The version that allows you to jump between platforms is LASR X. Specifically under the EULA it is covered under the Section labeled Amendments

Give us a call at the office 402.965.1778. Just a couple of quick questions--Is the Camera you are trying to connect a Logitech C270 or an Orange LASR Classic Advanced Camera (LCAC). From what you are describing and what we can see from your order there should not be a code needed for the camera. Also to rule out an issue with the camera, if you can also try to see if the camera works with any other program (e.g., Windows Camera app)? If it does perhaps the toggle switch for the advanced camera is on and unless the device you have is an (LCAC) it should be set to off otherwise no other camera will work. But give us a call at the office so we can get a more thorough understanding as to your current setup to troubleshoot.

A dedicated app was an option at the start of LASR X but a decision was made due to the different phone platforms (e.g., Android, iOS, Microsoft) to create a version that would on any platform regardless of the myriad of updates and changes an individual manufacturer pushed.

Not with what we have seen and been able to code as LASR X is a (web-browser tech). The limitation is not with the camera it is with web browser technology allowing the browser to access the full capabilities of the camera. It's similar in many ways how the iPhone has an advanced camera, but the web browser can't utilize it full capabilities. To use all the robust features, you take images and videos using a dedicated app on the phone.

Hi Martin, Thanks for your questions and for providing your specific use case. We get this one quite a bit. If you go for Recoil Simulation with LASR, you are already headed on the right path using LASR Classic. To capture the short laser burst that recoil simulators emit, you need a camera with a high-speed shutter. The LASR Classic Advanced Camera (LCAC) has high-speed shutter and IR detection. There are other cameras on the market, but presently LASR Classic only supports the LCAC drivers. You can buy the LCAC Extention License in the store, but it unlocks the ability for Classic to communicate with the LCAC. Unfortunately, it still won't recognize other Thrid-Party Cameras. Hi Vincekg, As of the last test on an iPhone11, we did not see recoil working reliably on LASR X. One experiences are intermittent shot detection. That is to say, LASR X will pick up the laser flash but, at times, will miss it as well. Some users use LASR X with recoil and accept it will miss shots and not a use case we officially support. If you have one of the newer Apple devices and CoolFire and want to try it out, LASR X has a free 30-day money-back guarantee, so if it doesn't work, you're not out anything if you to let us know in the 30-day window. Likewise, if you are getting consistent shot detection, let us know. However, we plan to test the recoil on the next version of the devices in 2022.
